The original Korean title is “장사리: 잊혀진 영웅들.”
The English title is “The Battle of Jangsari.”
The literal translation from the Korean title is
“Jangsari: Forgotten Heroes.”
During the Korean War, there is a group of 772 student soldiers.
Their mission is almost a suicide mission,
but they didn’t know that.
They attacked at Jangsari Beach in South Korea.
The real purpose of their attack was deceiving the North Korean forces into thinking the opposition forces would launch a decisive invasion there.
Actually The UN forces planed Incheon Landing Operation.
The movie said,
“This is based on the real story.”
These student soldiers, 17 years old average,
were given only two weeks of training.
The same ethnic fought each other.
It is very sad…
Rare reinforcement and supply.
The absurdity of war.
I cried.
In the movie, a female journalist was trying to expose this tragedy to the world.
In the end roll,
there are two pictures of female war reporters.
There were female war reporters during the WW2, the Korean War,
and the Vietnam War.
I respect them.
I love this movie.
